The New York Flute Club, 51st Season

A joint recital with Paige Brook

The 1970 New Flute Club recital was a joint recital that featured classical pieces performed by Paige Brook, with whom Jeremy studied the flute when he was in his teens, and jazz pieces played by Jeremy on flute and Eddie Gomez on bass.

According to the program, Paige played “Duet for flute and Violin in E Minor” (W. F. Bach), “Sonata No. 2 for Flute and Piano” (Richard Lane–a piece dedicated to Paige Brook and this was the world premiere), “Suite for Flute and Piano” (B. Antufeer) and “Concert Etude” (Tzibin) with Leon Rudin (on both violin and piano). The second half of the concert opened with Miles Davis’s “Nardis” followed by “Permutations”, “All is one” and “Waves”.

Mr. Brook’s playing can be heard on CDs and LPs, and Jeremy had an autographed CD “New York Philomusica-Chamber Ensemble: Paige Brook Performs French & German Masterpieces for Flute by Debussy, Poulenc, Kirnberger, Gluck and Telemann. Below is the CD cover image.
